Sorry, I didn't realise there was an introduction thread and I've already posted This site was recommended to me when I posted on trip advisor, and I'm glad it was
I am planning to visit Skiathos next year for the 1st time with my hubby and very good friends who will be celebrating their silver wedding anniversary while we are there.
We all love greece. Our favourite places are very greek with a handful of tavernas and well...very little else (i know very boring).
So far we have been to Corfu, Cefalonia, Stoupa(Peleponnese), Halkidiki, Thassos, Santorini, Naxos, Rhodes and Crete some more than once.
We go to Greece at least once a year and this year we are trying Lesbos and we are going to Agios Gordios in Corfu in 4weeks time.
I like the green islands in preference to the desert ones and thats why we have decided on Skiathos for next year.
Anyway thats a bit about me so hello everyone |

Welcome to the board, take a look at the Skiathos A - Z sticky in the general forum as a start.
There is a lot of information tucked away in the forums, sometimes a "search" at the top of the page reveals an answer to your question.
When you post a question you will get plenty of replies from your new friends here on the board ... _________________

Sorry it was a simple typo error but on checking it out in the dictionary it says for 'Fiend', an evil spirit, an unhumanly wicked person, well Frank & Anne, our 'fiends' make us drink all sorts of evil spirits when we meet them in Skiathos & that gives us thick heads the next day so that makes them unhumanly wicked people so we think fiends is probably a better description than friends!!! _________________ I'd rather have a full bottle in front

Ha Ha I went to change mine then realised it wasn't mine. Must be something in the air with all these silver wedding anniversaries. |

It's probably something in the air on this forum board because as you delve deeper & deeper into it you will notice that the majority of posts are alcohol related!!!!

| Talking of alcohol whats the retsina like in Skiathos and is it readily available in the supermarkets and tavernas? Also what price is it as retsina seems to vary dramatically in price on different islands? |

Undoubtedly the best by far is Kourtaki Retsina and you can get it from any supermarket for around 3 Euros per 1.5lt bottle.
