Hi I have been lurking several weeks and would like to thank all of you for all the info gleamed!
We are a couple and 2 teenagers and are off to Skiathos on the 27th July for 2 weeks and stopping at the eye q resort just outside Skiathos town near Megali Ammos. Has anyone been there or have any good / bad reports. We are travelling with xl on the early flight from Gatwick and maybe someone would be kind enough to tell us what is happening re refuelling on the return journey. |

Hi and welcome, Don't know about the EyeQ but from what i have read its very nice but up a steep hill. Re stop off on the return journey , its pot luck really . We have been 4 times and never had to stop to refuel.
The last time the plane refueled on Skiathos . I think the tail about refueling at another airport is because the fuel on Skiathos is a lot more expensive as it all has to be shipped in. |

Hi Gilly, welcome to the board.
Chelleb has stayed at the Eye Q and really liked it, I'm sure she'll reply if she spots your post.
Normally the XL 757's don't need to refuel and would return direct but this year they re-routed a lot of the Manchester and Gatwick flights via Volos on the mainland to drop off and pick up passengers. We were on the ground for about 45 minutes which is roughly the same as a refuelling stop.
BTW it might be worth just reminding anyone travelling with XL that they are charging for excess baggage at Skiathos airport this year at 7.50 euros per kilo. |
