I wondered if anyone had an update on the fire? I'm going to Koukanaries on 7 September and I read in the newspaper that it was affected as well as the other two resorts. Can anyone help with any information? Its my first time to Skiathos too and really looking forward to it.

Welcome, as long as you're not that Mrs Margaret T.
Don't think Kouk got it as bad as Aghia Paraskevi & Troulos, although people who were there at the time may say differently. It seems to have been the landscape that's suffered rather than the buildings anyway. |

Hello Margaret and welcome
Perhaps you are "Maggie" as she was great friends with Mr Bush senior and he was recently in Skiathos - maybe he recommended it to you. _________________ you heard it here first - BOJAN! |

Hi Mrs T
We're off to Aghia Pareskevi for the first time on 10th August, our tickets have arrived and our money has been ordered
A workmate's sister is in AP at the moment and says that all of the tavernas, restaurants and apartments are ok
As Foxy points out, it appears to be just the landscape that has suffered.
I hope you enjoy your first visit to Skiathos just as much as we intend to
13 days and counting........ _________________ Blue Nose |

Well Foxy, I most certainly am not that Mrs T, perish the very thought. I am far from that Mrs T as you could think. She was a tall forceful individual, I am small and blonde and full of fun. Funnily enough, George Bush senior was in Santorina last year when we there in July. I must attract celebrities.
So glad that Koukanaries seems to have escaped the worst of it. We have been trying to get there for a few years and now we are finally going. All the photographs look amazing. |
