| Just returned after a glorious week in Skiathos. My wife and I had some lovely meals. Particularly good was Nectar and Ambrosia in Troulos. The Rose garden (Bus stop 10), Marias Italian (up steps behind old harbour) Koziakas (just behind old harbour) and Aura, second taverna up steps past old harbour. But Amfilki, forget it! The food was over priced and just average. I was so dissappointed that I spoke with some Greek friends who said that people go there mainly for the views, but they confirmed that the quality has slipped. Such a shame, but luckily we are spoilt for choice on the island |

I only had baked lamb (melt in the mouth) and ice cream (ditto!) there this time, not very adventurous, but thought the prices fine. Mind you, I just had a glass of house wine (3euros); I think drinking from the extensive wine list, of which Christos is so proud, probably bumps up the price significantly. It was packed on Thursday night, but Christos squeezed us in and wouldn't let us have the bill until he'd given us a jug of 'milkshake' |
