Yes the lobby bar is owned by the Bourtzi Hotel,if you walk through the bar you end up in the hotel pool area.
We stayed at the Bourtzi in June, arrived the same day that the Lobby bar opened for business.
Very nice hotel, family owned, run mainly by 2 sons, but mother on guard keeping an eye on proceedings..
Only down side was when we found out that some of our friends who stayed at the same time and in same room type(there is 2 options standard or superior) they booked the same way as us,arranged own flight and booked direct with the hotel in january by email- they got charged 60euro a night,we got charged 85euro per night.. when I questioned this I was met with a shug of the shoulders and "sorry don't understand" please speak with Dimitris,he is back at 4pm....but our flight home is 2pm.... [maybe our friends frequented the Lobby bar more than we did.. ]
But saying that it is a great place to stay if you want the town facilities, great rooms with free air con, excellent pool area, and did not hear any noise from the street at night,we would stay again...even at the 85euro rate... _________________ http://www.pro-tecmotorsport.com |

Thanks for the info.

Limanaki is immediately next door to the Alkyon hotel at the beginning of "club strip" along the water front. It is owned and run by Thanassis and Enthi. Thanassis's career has included the Alkyon bar (many years ago) and then, up to 2006, waitering at Ariston on the corner opposite Bourtzi island. (Nothing to do with En Plo).

Hi Sue
Sorry not been on line since, yes Liminarki is next to the Alkyon Hotel, in the winter Thanasis told us he would be having a log burning fire place so think it would be lovely in there for christmas dinner. We did really want to go for christmas as it fell well for us this year with the days off work, in the end though we just thought it was a big gamble if the Saturday flight did not go over to Skiathos with Olympic if the weather was bad and then we got stuck in Athens for Christmas. When are you leaving the uk and what airport are you flying from? How long are you staying for at Christmas. Just spoke to my friend in Skiathos and he said there are more tavernas open this year in the winter, and it has been a nice day there today. |

Today is lovely in Skiathos... the sun is hot, there are tables and chairs scattered about along the paralia in front of the several tavernas/kafenions that are open. Lots of tavernas open on the weekend, we'll see what the week is like... tomorrow night is the lighting of the christmas lights ceremony - should be fun... peaceful, quiet, but still very alive here...
ahhhhhhhhhh..

(Sue jet- I FOUND my kitty!!!! Rather, she found me... we went looking for kitties, bearing a bag of food, late the other night after dinner,... I jangled my bracelets, called my ghatas... nothing. Just as we were turning to leave, I heard a 'puuuuurrrrrrr' and there was ligo ghataki mou! I cried. She is still alive and looks very healthy. None of the other kitties materialized. ONLY her. I am still astounded.) _________________ "If you want others to be happy, practice compassion.

It sounds great enjoy the sun whilst it lasts, but watch out for the low sun reflecting off the water, it can catch you out, even at this time of the year
Hope you have a nice fish supper this evening ... _________________

Sorry have not been on much lately. Just picked up on your Lobby Bar comments. Yes, I did stay at the Bourtzi this summer and we used to have just the one cocktail before we went out for dinner in the evening at their Lobby Bar. Not one for usually drinking cocktails, like Ian, I must admit that they are the best in town to my mind. And by staying at the hotel we got them €2 cheaper. And they are very very strong - no being conned at the Lobby unlike somewhere else which I could mention but dont think I will !!! I remember paying €5 for a cocktail because it was Happy Hour at a certain bar and it was like drinking fruit juice. When you have a cocktail at the Lobby Bar you know you've had a cocktail !! But they do every other drink as well and some food and coffee and you always get a bowl of luxurious nuts and snacks with your drinks. The staff are lovely, friendly and in the summer from 9pm they have a DJ - a really fun Bar. _________________ www.ClearSpray.co.uk |
