As a semi regular holiday goer/ local visitor, there are a few things I would recommend to those who haven't been before.
Food - A couple of my favs Bakaliko (Harbour - Skiathos Town) and Pegasus in Aghia Paraskevi Bus Stop 16, it is also def worth a stop in Kohili opposite the bus stop for a drink with Vanessa, she is a fantastic lady, very friendly.
Bars - I really like sitting outside Main Steet and watching the world pass by, Bar Mango have some lovely cocktails and funky music lovely owners, oh and they do two types of Cider, which in Skiathos is hard to come by, Destiny is also a good one if you want a spot of a singing.
Blue Bar also nice, but a little more expensive in summer.
Beaches - Mandraki Elias for its shalow water and not too busy, Aselinos is a nice one for fun in the waves if a bit windy and somtimes (depending on boats) not too busy.
Activities - A boat trip is a must, just to see Lalaria, Kastro and Sougrias if nothing else. Kalypso is a fantastic boat at the end of the port by the ferries (my Dad works there).Evangelista for a bit of culture as well.
SO much to do, just never enough time. _________________ I wish I was there!! |

I would recommend Catamaran trip bookable with owner George or Neil opposite the Fresh Bar (good food). Also the boat trip from old harbour to Tsourgria Island, nice quiet beach and friendly taverna.
If you go to Koukounaries island and walk back by the bridge over the lake, when you get to main road, cross over and go down dirt track opposite (next to Mandraki), right at end of track and to the left is Amalia where you'll find George's bar. Great drinks and great prices and say hello to George. There's a swimming pool too.
Have never ate a bad restaurant but for great view go to one up by Health Centre, the view as the sun sets it brill, you might have to book though.
My favourite beaches were Kanapitsa and Sklithri. |
