3.00 am wake up didn't know where the hell we were, everything was packed the night before so quick shower etc, before being picked up by Gupta and Selwena at 3.45 am
Dumped the car at Boltneck and Nells joint ,cos they live 10 minutes from the airport , and all six of us jumped the pre booked minibus to terminal 1, Manchester.
The mood in the bus was tense , we were all knackered and the girls were concerned about being fined at check in for overweight luggage.
Selwena is a mobile chemist shop and Nell ( Mrs Boltneck ) a serial shopaholic.
But their fears were unfounded, luggage was ok, the only problem we encountered after queueing for what seemed an eternity, involved Gupta's ticket details.
I had made the block booking online and gave his name as Colin instead Michael Colin, as it appears on his passport .... cost me £40 quid on the spot to re - issue his ticket.
To me it was cheaper to leave him in Manchester but the others would'nt have it ........ so I paid up.
But seriously, they are really scrutinising all check in details and will seize any opportunity to squeeze more money from you
, so double check your booking details as there were at least 8 or 10 people in the same predicament.
Checked through and met up with Mr & Mrs Deep Sea ( where did he get that daft name from ? ) and took off about 40 minutes behind schedule, great flight which made up some time and set us down in The Promised Land in what seemed like no time at all.
( BY THE WAY, THIS IS GONNA BE LIKE " WAR AND PEACE " ... SO FOXY ... ASK MATRON TO MAKE YOU A LARGE HORLICKS AND TUCK YOU IN NICE AND COSY LIKE )
In less than an hour after landing we were in our rooms at Noula, somehow the Boltnecks got the penthouse suite with a huge balcony and 2 bedrooms , we got a very nice end terrace with balcony, Selwena & Gupta ended up in the smallest room on the site
Poor Ann & Bill were trapped between our 2 rooms for the whole fortnight but turned out to be great neighbours .... even though they never did get a round in
The rooms, the owners and the staff proved to be exceptional, and I would not hesitate in recommending the Noula on this board.
The garden settings and pool area were immaculate, the bar area was as good as any I have ever seen, the Chef was brilliant and we had several fine meals and a couple of great BBQ'S there.
Unusually we didn't head straight for Banana, but nipped round to Maria's supermarket , stocked up with the vital supplies then settled for a relaxed afternoon around the pool ... never done that before
That night we all met up with the Deep Sea and Jean for a meal at the Golden Beach .... and a cracking night ensued ... great food, and again great service , followed by dancing around the bar .... lots more to drink and shots from our host .. Jimmy ( Dimitris ).
And then to bed !!!!!!
Next day, after a longer than normal lie in bed, we staggered fully laden with food and drink toward the hill of all hills ..... the track to Banana
To be continued ....... |

Hmmmm - Kriandos, just because Foxy was snoring doesn't mean that no one notices that you never continued on with your promise of 'to be continued'....
Are you waiting to finish after your NEXT visit to Skiathos?
