You have some really cool places to go. We are waiting on the weather to warm up then we have a couple of really old cemetarys and an
old school house we want to check out. There's also an old house in a near by town that we want to try to get permission to investigate. We have the video and digital camera and are hoping to have the voice recorder this next time around. Would sure like to catch some voice recordings. Here's hoping!!! |

that is what we are waiting on, the weather to warm up...be careful who you ask permission from...hubby and i wanted to go into the cemetery that his father is buried in but there was no one in the office it was late..so we went to the sheriffs office and explained what we wanted to do and if they saw the car in there that it was just us...sitting not doing any harm..they did not understand and told us if they saw us in there they would arrest us for tresspassing! i honestly could not believe it..so soon we are going to go to the office and request permission...by the way i use lots of little dots when i type not to sure why i like them but i do...lol! |

By the way, I like dots too......... Thanks for the advice. We will have a care as to whom we talk to. The one cemetary is just a mile from our house so I don't expect to have a problem there. The other is in the hills, very old with not a soul around to bother us. My hubby is friends with the owner of the property and has already been given permission to use the cabin and the cemetary is just a mile or so from there so that one should be okay too. The old house is a private residence no longer occupied. One of my kids knows one of the kids that knows the guy who owns it etc.... down the grape vine so... hopefully we can finagle our way into that one. Every town has one of those that the kids avoid except for the Halloween dare and so on. This is that house. Keep your fingers crossed for us. |

Try your county court house or hall of records. Old maps can be really helpful. Even your library might have old maps or records you could use to help you. If you have a name try old deeds. If you have dates try old platts or boundry maps. Where there's a will there's a way. |
