Marlow 4 miles is the nearest.
Aylesbury ground-share and play at Chesham 9 miles, both those clubs were located by Tony Kempster's site to play in the South West Division earlier in the season, results since then has seen them moved back by Kempster into the Midland division where they play this season, future results could see them move again, near London the league boundaries criss cross, a lot of teams find themselves in leagues (same level) they don't want to be in but have to play where the pyramid system places them, appeals always get turned down.
Slough Town have been ground-sharing at Beaconsfield 11 miles, then there is Burnham 14 miles.
With YET ANOTHER birthday between now and then, I can only hope I remain active and my old banger survives the breakers yard. _________________ "CHAMPIONS AGAIN"

Good news but I can see why others will get annoyed at the amount of coverage for Truro to the detriment of others i.e Falmouth etc not getting much coverage.

I've tried, I've tried! Someone put me onto The Cloak, but I haven't been able to get it to work yet with BBC Radio Cornwall -- when I click on the Listen Live link it simply doesn't open Real Player, so I don't know what the problem is.
Any fool-proof programs you could recommend? _________________ UP to the South! |

The question we all have been asking recently is what has happened they have missed three important games Dawlish, The Senior Cup Final and just the odd report at Corsham perhaps their policy has changed what do the forum think????

As has been said by quite a few supporters - Cornwall is a rugby county, it's got a larger following than football, and it's very hard to compete with.
May be the main reason Penzance/Newlyn reverted to Cornish Pirates, and Launceston as Cornish All Blacks. _________________

Must admit Deacs looked pretty isolated up at Corsham - he may as well stayed back in Cornwall and manned the local football half-hour slot on the Radio, he couldn't have done any worse than last Saturday's incumbent. Listening to the play back of last weekend's coverage on the BBC Cornwall website you get a good idea as to why there's a lot of complaints on Cornish Soccer about the standard of coverage, it's certainly dipped of late.
For a while I thought Truro City were probably getting more than their fair share of coverage and I could sympathise with a few of the moans from other clubs in Cornwall, but given the fact they've let go big games like the Senior Cup Final, Dawlish & Corsham you've got to ask questions. The last two away matches have cost a small fortune in mobile calls keeping the forum updated - Rhod Mitchell was the only local sports journalist up at Bishop Sutton that I noticed. I'd also like to mention DuchyWill & Silverlander for hosting the various update threads lately, without their time and effort a lot of supporters would have been left to the vagaries of the local BBC.
I don't know what others think but if I were Atlantic FM I'd make a move and go for enhanced radio rights to Truro City in exchange for the mutual advertising opportunities City would get in return. Either way someone at BBC Cornwall needs to sharpen up their act because it's going off the boil for local football in general not just for Truro City. |
