Mark,
I am back, staggering, refilled and I just heard the front door open, she's back and will not understand that SPURS WINNING means a lot.
I got upset today seeing a Spurs 'fan' limply waving a flag and not shouting for his team, how the hell did he get a ticket?, looking at him I thought Mayor Livingstone must have provided him with one.
I was PART of tyhe Spurs supportive TEAM in the 60's, I didn't deserve a ticket today but as I feel NOW I wish I was.
SPURS WON THE FIRST OF MANY, what a THRASHING we gave to the Arsenal.
SPURS ARE WINNERS.
IVOR IS HAPPY.
Shut up Ivor you have said enough, YES but I AM HAPPY.
Pass my Guiness please. YIPPEE.

Feel so pleased for some of the players - given what Ledley King has been through in the past year he deserved this big time plus he's carried the club ever since S*l upped and went to Arsen*l, everyone's had a go at Paul Robinson so this'll do him no end of good and as for Robbie Keane what can you say?
I had a surprised yesterday, I nipped into
Leonard's
in Kenwyn St. and got talking football to Geoff Acklin the barber (a Gooner through and through) who happens to originate from Hornsey. Geoff nipped out back and returned with an amazing collection of Spurs/Arsen*l press photo's from the 1960's - it turned out his mate back then was a press photographer in North London back then and these were copies he'd made for him, Bobby Smith, Cliff Jones, packed terraces, A to Z halftime scoreboards (remember them) etc, a real journey back in time, could even see the chimney of my Great Grandparents house sticking up behind the Park Lane end. _________________ Dave Leonard's White & Gold Army !!! |

Games like this make you proud to be a Spurs fan. Who'd of thought this would happen so soon after the manager change. Credit to Ramos and his coaching staff who have turned the club's season around. Hopefully, this will be the start of a successful era in the club's history. _________________ "I never forget a face, but in your case I'll be glad to make an exception"

Shame about the result..!!
But it was fun to read 'Mountaineers' dialogue as the day went on and the Guinness level rose higher and higher.
So - well done to Spurs - I hope all your supporters enjoyed winning the first silverware for 9 years - and hopefully there will be some more to follow.
I am not too disheartened - with my 2 clubs being Truro & Chelsea I have recently learned to live and cope with the disappointment of Cup defeats..!! |
