Truro lost 0-2 to a very good Millbrook side .
City match Millbrook all the way to the end of this brilliant game of football only to loose through conceeding a goal in the first couple of minutes of the 1st half and then in the last 4 minutes of the 2nd half .
Going into this Semi-Final Truro City felt they could achieve a place in the final . Having put out Newquay and St Blazey in the 2 previous rounds confidence was high .
Millbrook came into the game as leaders of the DJM Plymouth u18s league , having lost 1 game all season . Truro had only played 2 games all season .
Millbrook scored the 1st goal after a free kick was awarded and \truro failling to clear their area , the ball fell to a Millbrook player who slotted it past Richard Pennington . 0 - 1 .
The 1st half was mainly played in the Millbrook half , Liam Eddy twicw going close for Truro . Martin Moon hit the bar after great work from Eddy . Millbrooks keeper was forced to produce some excellent saves to prevent Truro from equallising .
Truro started the 2nd half with a quick tempo , and once again to the game to Millbrook . James Daniel delivered a great cross that went straight across the front of the goal , all it needed was a Truro player to smash it home . Sam Cooper's free kick with 5 minutes remaining , looked to be heading for the top corner , but once again the Millbrook keeper who had a great game produce a save worthy of winning any game . Millbrook were always dangerous and with time running out broke away to score their 2nd goal . 0 - 2 . Still Truro would not give up and Daniel headed over 6 yards , when it would of been easier to score than head the ball over the bar .
The ref blew for full time and the Millbrook team celebrated a great victory .
I would like to express my pleasure and honour in managing this brilliant Truro side that exceeded all expectations considering the team was built up of u16s and u17s . Every player that represented this team should hold their heads up and be congratulated . Well done lads , and lets hope next season we are playing in an u18s league and playing week in week out .

Tough luck boys, you gave your best against a good outfit. With a bit of luck it might have been a different story.
Your time will come without a doubt when you play together more often as a team.

I agree, Mill Brook are a very good outfit. However I think today showed the gulf between where the Under 18's are compared to DJM Teams. There is a physical presence about the 'Plymouth' Teams that our lads just didn't have today - a case of men against boys.
That being said I think they played ok oday for such a young team. Will there be an under 18's Team next year??
Also talking to some of the parents (and grandparents) down there today, there seemed to be 4 or 5 players who had travelled some distance only to be told they were not part of the squad. Is this right, and if so why??
