Hello all,
I am putting together a story which supports four different pages which can be used on a website which I am putting together. The story is for a fictional non-league website which I have designed on Dreamweaver and is for a Sports Journalism project.
For my story I have decided to focus on Truro City and their rise up the pyramid.
For my four stories to demonstate the online medium I have so far got;
1) An interview with Chris Reski
2) A paralell detailing other clubs who are currently and have over the years tried to achieve success quickly. ie AFC Wimbledon.
3) A detailed story of Truro's rise has come about and how it has developed, in which is included a slideshow of the highs of Truro.
Now for my final story I am looking at putting a map in and showing how few successful teams there are in the westcountry, and this is where you come in, I would be greatful if you could answer some of the following questions and email them to me at:
SJMarsden@UCLan.ac.uk
1: What is your connection with Truro City, and how long have you followed them?
2: Do you think Truro's goal are realistic, or are they hopeful of acheiving too much too quick?
3: How much of a bearing do you think Truro's geographical placement will have on the club as they progress higher? Will it prevent them from attracting players?
4: Despite any concerns, do you belive, with the right backing, that Truro City could break the hoodoo that hangs over Westcountry clubs trying to be successful, particularly in Cornwall?
5: Where do you see Truro City in ten years time?
I would be particularly greatful if Robin could e-mail me his answers as I believe you are chairman of the supporters club? All other responces also will be greatfully recieved.
Thank you very much,
Sam Marsden

Not really as the spelling in a post, which was posted in a hurry earlier is not marked.
Thanks for your concern though. |

Comments on the story appreciated (be as harsh as you want, it all helps!), and have a vote on the poll!
Edit:
I have also started a thread on a Burnley board, just to gether their opinions...being a Cornish Claret...

rather than say located in the deepest south of england,
south to many up north is anywhere from london to cornwall.
located in the south west of england, only 40miles(i would check on google) from Lands End and London is closer to Paris than Truro.
you state devon and cornwall is not a hotbed for football, a bit negative, something along the lines below is more positive
how about stating Truros crowds are well above all other teams in their division and higher than any team in the league above them. stats are on tonykempster.co.uk _________________ There are 10 types of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that dont.

"cut off from the bustling City’s of London, Manchester and the like."
'City's' should be 'cities'
'WAG’s' should be 'WAGs'
'In the modern day game, where lifestyle and WAGs seem just as important to a footballer as a successful career,'
sounds better.
I'm sorry, Sam, I could go on but I'd get bother from my fellow TCFC supporting buddies and I don't want to crush your obvious growing talent. I'd just suggest that you get your work efforts proof-read before you publish. You can lose readers if only because you run the risk of irritating them with grammatical technicalities. Don't give up!! |

Cheers Silverlander.
I am more than aware of my problems with grammar, and it is something which I am trying to work on.
To be honest, I am more into TV and Radio, but obviously have to do writing work as well at the moment, and feedback is good.
The article I posted, was just a draft, and I perhaps should not have put it on so soon.
Thanks again, and hopefully City keep up the good work! |
