many thanks to Robin,Ray and Mark for organising/driving for todays trip and thanks to Corsham for their hospitality
great game
greatresult, made even better by the result at Calne
next weekend is now going to be the greatest day in the history of TCFC (providing the boys on the pitch do the business) when we win the WL premiersip, gain a third consecutive promotion and become the first cornish side to be promoted to the southern league.

A fantastic day out & great respect for Corsham for the welcome we received and their hospitality.
A seriously authoritive performance by Truro City, one of those occasions where it's probably wrong to single out anyone in particular because the team were outstandling as a whole.
Thanks also to Dave Leonard for taking some time to talk to us afterwards the way he did, everyone made a contribution on and off the pitch today but this five minutes was a bonus and it meant a great deal.
Not sure what coverage you lot back home received from Radio Cornwall, a great pity if it wasn't as comprehensive as the match warranted. We tried our best to relay whatever info we could by 'phone. |

As HM/HB says, Lenny spent some time with us right after the final whistle and dedicated the win to the travelling support - the guy is pure class.
It was a top day out all round; a mention on the radio on the way up, Corsham has a decent set-up (mind you, no burgers!), a decent pint (or 4) of Old Speckled Hen, we bossed the match (not revenge, just matching the Dawlish result!), some good banter (not sure about the 'Rentamob' quote!), impressive singing - "That's why we're Champions (ELECT)", "You're not Champions any more!", "3-2 (4-2) (5-2) on aggregate", and to our favourite player of the day - "5 again, 5 again, 5 again", "every time, every time, every time", Chopper did eventually get booked!
The Calne result was met with more celebration than our own final whistle!
Just one downer on the day - Rayvon, next time leave your 'Hits of the 50s & 60s' double CD at home - TORTURE!!

Sorry mate, I think we felt we had to indulge him in a 'care-in-the-community' kinda way, at least you didn't have to drive the bus with it blasting in your ears, oh and with Tommo singing the chorus lines sat behind you !
While we're on about crowd participation The Manamanah song from the Muppets got an airing, not quite sure why the Ref felt he had to do imaginary 'sock puppet' impressions in the first place but it gave us a laugh (one of many).
Special mention to the Gentleman amongst us who yelled out to the Goalie "Hey Keeps! You complain
almost
as much as my misses!", now I wonder who that was? 'Keeper was good for a laugh anyway though, mind you with that No. 5 in front of you as a defender you've gotta be.
Did Duchy's text make it onto 6-0-6 in the end?

I agree with Halfman we needed some extra protection up the front though Tommy was kind with the Sandwiches this time, poor Raveon never seen a man fall asleep texting but tha's what the real ale does to you lol.
Loved the Referee with his actions that all got us doing a chorus of the "Birdie Dance" followed by Manamana, in reference to the gentleman who made his comment about his wife we all took it but then his mate spoke up and said yes I agree brought more hilarity.
Lenny was the Special One for sure yesterday by taking time out and heaping praise on everyone who travelled again, it may be a little more difficult to get to every game next season but the team will have a even stronger support behind them. |
