With Truro playing their last league game of the season , and preserving their 100% record they came out winners in a very well and hard fought victory .
Some times in football if you create chances and don't put them away , something will come up and bite you . That is what happened tonight . Creating more than a dozen chances in the 1st half Truro failure to score and went in at half-time 0-0 .
The 2nd half began as it finished . Chances after chances . Then when pushing forward for the opening goal , Truro got caught . Trevenson broke and out number the Truro defence . The advancing Truro keeper Luke Hilliard parried the 1st shot but as he attempted to get the ball , he brought down the Trevenson striker , which resulted in a penalty , which Trevenson converted . 0-1.
Not giving up and pressing , Truro were awarded a free kick half way in the Trevenson half . Ryan Tresidder floated a great ball into the box for Tom Hardwick to powerfully head in . 1-1 .
Wave after wave of Truro pressure resulted in a fine run and cross from skipper Lewis Ellis . His powerfull low cross was met by Sam Kenny whos touch rebounded off a Trevenson defender and into the net . 2-1 .
End to end football was to follow . Truro looking for that 3rd goal to kill the game off . Trevenson looking to equalise , to be the 1st team to take points off Truro .
A poor kit out by Trevenson's goalie 'Mamsie' ( who is normally in the centre of midfield ) went straight to Richie Rundle . He instantly returned the ball back , by curling a 30 yard lob over the keepers head . 3-1 .
The whistle went and Truro recorded a 100% record in the league this season . Full-time Turo City 3 - 1 Trevenson .
On a sad note , Sam Gerken picked up an ankle injury and could miss the League Cup Final this Sunday at Hayle , v Truro City Cougars . Kick-off is 1.00pm .
Well Done to the players on a fantastc undefeated season .
