| STOP ALL THIS MOANING! |
|
|
From many of the recent posts, you would think that the club is in turmoil! Let's put things into prespective; we've been promoted for the 3rd season on the spin, we're the first Cornish side to play in the Southern League and we've got a young squad who are a joy to watch. (most weeks.)
What the hell is there to moan about?!
I'll be honest, I jumped on the Truro City bandwagon at the start of the Western D1 season. Since then, I have gone to most home games. Throughout that time, i can honestly say I have only seen a handful of bad performances. Not bad considering the amount of back to back games. So what if we had a bad game this week. People should get used to it because we're not going to have it all our own way next season, that's for sure. I think the problem is, some people have got used to the 8-0 hammerings and have lost sight of the fact that Truro are playing in a very high statndard of football. Some fans have become complacent and expect to see a trouncing week in week out.
From now on, it's gonna get a lot harder. All the more reason to get behind the team and stop all the negative comments.
COME ON TRURO! WESTERN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS.... |

EVERYBODY is entitled to their opinion.
Just because you don't happen to agree with a different point of view, it doesn't make it wrong.
And it doesn't mean they should stop - just because it doesn't fit in your little 'happy box'.
I'll say it again - that's what his forum is all about - differing views and lively debate.
RESPECT AND EMBRACE OPINIONS OF OTHERS - EVEN IF YOU FIND IT UNCOMFORTABLE. |

How can I compete with such a cogent and well constructed arguement??!
I have, and will continue to, give my opinion - whether you construe that as moaning or not is your problem, not mine.
I wouldn't expect you to comprehend the majority of my other 1000+ posts, but your other 31 have been most entertaining! |

Well said fish, I couldn't agree more!!
What gets me is when considered opinions based on genuine concerns (and sometimes, dare I say, facts!) are construed as 'moaning' - AAARRRGGGHHH!!! |

but its also the speed at which moans come out,
eg Beaker about the youth development having a rant on yet did she phone the club about her concerns or come on here and have a rant.
if a decision is made on day1 then it seems as if by day2 its all doom and gloom before any action has been taken.
eg appointing a new manager after Lenny (god according to some) left
the squad being decimated, players unmotivated yet the vast majority have now signed on for next season.
its how the concerns are phrased as well, eg I hope not going full time does not delay too much the chairmans plans for conference or league status
not oh no, Heaneys going to walk away and we will slump back down the leagues
a bit patience would of stopped a lot of the MOANING
Some do have ideas re merchandise, publicity opportunities, but you cant expect Truro City wallpaper, duvet set, slippers, and a club shop like Man Utds overnight. _________________ There are 10 types of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that dont.

Couldn't agree more MOTD.
Things happen in life and football, and it doesn't seem real, yet we can't seem to look further than the worst bits.
Lenny has gone for issues between him and the management, which we will probably never know the truth, but at the end of the day, we'll get some bad days, but these things happen. Look to the positive - we're in the highest league the club have ever been in, and the team are starting to gel together really nicely. If the players didn't think there was anything left then would they have signed up to play next season? I think not.
Here's to the new season in the southern league. _________________

I would just like to point out that I was not having a moan, I was bringing to the surface things that I knew to be fact and that involved having the best interests of the children in mind. I wanted some answers and I went out of my way to get them. Sorry if they have been misconstrued as moaning. The main point of that was to speak in defence of innocent children that do not get the chance to defend themselves in these situations. As said before everyone has a right to voice their opinion. Moaning is something you do when you have a complaint but do nothing about it. I did something about my post. I contacted someone at the club and it led to a statement being put on the forum as well as some answers to my original post but I would also like to ask if you have actually read my post properly because I did put on there what I knew to be true and factual and the rest I couldn't comment on because I could not say if it was true. I don't call that moaning or even ranting. I had a right to bring this about being a parent of one of those children. _________________ http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=643072620

I whole-heartedly agree with Beaker's sentiments, especially given that she has a vested interest in the welfare of a child playing youth football for Truro City. If people are restricted in putting over a legitimate concern in that sort of context then we are in trouble.
As for MOTD's comments two things come to mind, firstly the thrust of my argument is to encourage the club to establish a means of organisation where by 'THEY can help us help THEM'. Secondly I'm reminded that one or two board members quietly campaigned on someone's behalf over a particular problem they had with the club some time ago - I can well remember the context of a certain person's gripes then.

I agree,Beaker and others including myself had every right to ask questions
(or moaning as some might call it) when someone involved with the Truro youth set up comes onto the forum and states that the management of the club are going to more or less pull the plug on the acadamy. When you read things like this coming from a person who is directly involved in the youth set up it is quite natural for people to be concerned and ask the club to give their answers to those who are worried about something that has been running so well.So yes a concerned parent,or any one for that matter who has the interest in the youth set up has the right to ask questions.
Good on you Beaker.

and i am very grateful for that.
you do say campaigned quietly,
not came on here on day1 and had a rant about it.
I went down the official lines and it was only when i was not getting an answer after a couple of months that i was getting annoyed with the club.
I did not come on here attacking the club and the way it was ran.
Grievances can be raised with the club by way of letter or phone call, an unofficial messageboard does not seem the right way to raise all problems.
as you do not have to register to access the board (something which could be looked at) more and more will be reading what we have to say about our club.
a bit discretion and diplomacy may be in order. _________________ There are 10 types of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that dont.
