Some of you may have been wondering why Kevin Wills was not in Truro City's squad last night.
Well, instead he was playing at Home Park in Mickey Evans' testimonial. He was picked by the legendary Plymouth Argyle striker to play for his 'All Star' side against Paul Sturrock's team, 'Luggy's XI.'
Despite starting on the bench, Wills came on and was key to Evans' team's 4-2 win in front of 5,000 fans. His sublime pass was finished by Macclesfield Town striker Martin Gritton 10 mins after the break to make it 3-1.
With players like Matt Le Tissier, Paul Wotton, Lilian Nalis on the pitch, it was doubtful if Wills would feature. But he more than held his own and was one of the stars of the night.
Ex-Truro midfielder Darren Garner also featured in Mickey's squad. |
