What many thought would be the Final , saw a cracking game of football between the winners of the Kernow League A and B leagues , saw Truro City who were the B league winners progress into the Cornwall County under 16s AH Luke Cup Final to be held on 4th May . Venue tbc.
Truro began the game by taking the game to Alverton . Pressing and getting into the faces of their opponents saw Truro create many chances . Alverton inturn saw a couple of chances missed , with Truro keeper Luke Hilliard pulling off a couple of good saves .
A great probbing run by James Daniel who cut in from the right , was brought down in the area and awarded a penalty . Cometh the man cometh the hour . Up steps Ryan Tresidder who played and captained the Alverton team over the last few seasons , to calmly slot the ball into the net . 1-0
Truro went in at half time with most of the play and possesion .

As mentioned in many team talks during the season , the 1st 10 minutes of the second half are important . Alverton were awarded a free kick , which Bradley Wills floated over for Adam ( Alverton ) to blast in after a fine run around the back of the Truro defence .
With Truro now playing against the wind and under pressure the back 4 of Charlie Conway , Sam Hatfield , Ben Williams and Jaisol Barot held firm . Williams and Barot inparticular were outstanding with their aireal ability .
Richie Rundle found space on the left . He picked out James Daniels defence splitting run . Daniel who had the Alverton keeper charging at him , rose and headed the bouncing ball over the defender and keepers head to give Truro a deserved 2-1 lead .
With all players on both sides contributing 110% Alverton were unable to get the equaliser .
The referee blew his whistle and a tremendous roar and cheers went up around the ground as this exciting group of players booked their place in the County Cup Final .
The celebrations started and i dont mind admitting , brought a tear to my eyes .
A fantastic result and performance .
