Chelsea got lucky agaisnt Leicester last night. The Championship side were winning 0-1 and 2-3. Lampard (3) and Shevchenko scored for Chelsea while former Birmingham City striker DJ Campbell was amongst the scorers for Leicester. Good to see Lamps back scoring and on top form again. Also Shevchenko has scored 2 in 2 games.
Liverpool beat Cardiff 2-1, helped by a thunderbolt from Nabil El Zhar. Cardiff had the score's at 1-1 for about a munute before Stevie G won it for the reds. Emotional scenes at the end when Robbie Fowler got a standing ovation from the kop.
A young Arsenal side beat Sheff Utd 0-3. Goals coming from Eduardo (2) and Denilson.
Spurs beat Blackpool 2-0 in Juande Ramos first game in charge (PSV Eindhoven have confirmed Martin Jol is a candidate to replace Ronald Koeman as coach) Robbie Keane and Pascal Chimbonda scored while Paul Robinson made a comeback from injury.
Blackburn beat Portsmouth 1-2, Man City beat Bolton 0-1 (Micah Richards could be a doubt for England's crucial Euro 2008 qualifier against Croatia after being stretchered off) and Luton took Everton to extra time before Cahill scored and won the game for the Toffees.
All the teams that are left in the cup are from the Premiership. _________________ "I never forget a face, but in your case I'll be glad to make an exception"

Liverpool for me, hopefully we'll get Everton away in the next round so I can go to Woodison Park!
Robbie Fowler did have an emotional return to Anfield, the whole of the ground stood as one when he turned round and saluted the Anfield faithful with applause. _________________ YNWA JFT96 |
