F.A cup will liverpool or arsenal progress? will chelsea slip up how many goals will man utd thrash aston villa by (not that im byist)

and then theirs that other cup that doesnt need to be mentioned

what choices!  Reply with quote

Well, it ain't going to be Watford or Charlton, but my conscience simply won't let me vote for either of the other two, so I'll plump for an independent candidate.

Liverpool!

Okay, that's more heart than head, 'cuz their road form has been dire and they are very many points adrift of ManUre. Still, if it comes together for them they'll be dangerous the rest of the way, and I certainly expect they'll finish in a Champions League place (you tell Spurs good luck in the UEFA Cup, Mountaineer), probably third, possibly second if the wheels come off down Stamford Bridge. LFC can beat Arse at home, so I think they'll advance this weekend; beating them again three days later in the Carling Cup may be iffy-er, depending on the lineups -- whoever loses on Saturday will be tempted to field a stronger side in the rematch. And then there's the regular season home fixture later -- in short, while confident, I'd be happier about advancing and finishing higher if LFC didn't have Arsenal (who have already beaten the Reds like a rented mule) three more times, at least. And we could meet again in the Champions League! Which I fully expect the Reds to win for the sixth time, of course. Barca is talking too much; they're nervous, and hardly invincible.

My picks for heading down: Charlton, Watford, and Wigan (big shockers, I'm sure).

OK, I went for United but, to be honest Alex, who really cares?

We have MUCH more important issues to contemplate!

Will City drop any more points? Will we hit 100 goals (or more possible still, will our goal-difference top 100!)? WHEN will we top 100 goals? Will we finish the season having to play 3 games a week for two months? It goes on and on.

All my wife has to worry about is paying the mortgage, balancing our finances, feeding the family and a few other minor irritations, the lucky lady! (and being married to ME , such FORTUNE !)

Yes, City will drop more points -- I predict several draws in our future in league play as teams hunker down; Yes, City's goal differential will top 100, if it ever stops raining; Yes, there will be a grueling gauntlet of multiple match weeks down the stretch (along with the Vase and Senior Cup wins, of course!)

And Yes, your wife does sound crazy for sticking around! Laughing Laughing Laughing
