two good results  Reply with quote

Those are nice scorelines to see! Good for the youth, good for the future of the Club (and, yes, other clubs too, of course).

But c'mon, Master Chief, it was only like 1 in the morning -- you couldn't just go ahead and work up the match reports? I need more coffee tv

won't anyone think of the children?  Reply with quote

Oh, there's plenty more where that came from! But it might be inappropriate for me to be sending bottles of sippin' whiskey to the Youth sides for good results!

Looking forward to the match reports -- I'm trying to keep all the names straight so twenty years from now I can say "I remember that guy from when he was in the Youth set-up!"

Truro City's u18s booked their place in the semi-finals of the Rathbone Cup with a very hard fought performance , against a very good St Blazey team featuring 4 players that played for the Countyu18s team the previous day .

Truro's team again consisted of a mixture of u16s and u18s . After achieving a great result in the previous round against Newquay , Truro's manager Phil Hodges kept most of the side with the additions of signing Dan Rowe and Liam Eddy from Helston . They proved to be excellent signings to the club , with the later showing why he is in the County u18s squad .

Being put under pressure from the start , Truro were forced to dig deep to stay in the game . St Blazey had almost 60% of the game in the 1st half , but could not get through and threaten Truro's keeper Richard Pennington
mainly due to the resilliant defending of Declan Cassidy , Jaisal Barot , Dan Rowe and Charlie Conway . The industrial work rate of Joe Partridge on the right of midfield began the move that created Truro's 1st goal .

Winning the ball with a crunching tackle on the halfway line , Partridge feed Liam Eddy the ball , Eddy quickly laid the ball off to James Daniel who eluded a slidding tackle on the wing , and raced to the byline. His pinpoint cross was meet by Eddy , whos bullet header hit the crossbar and crossed the line . For the crowd of about 60 people who witnessed this goal , it was well worth coming out to see this exciting side perform .

H-T 1 - 0

The second have began where Truro left off in the 1st . Sensing a place in the Semi-Final inspired City to take the game to St Blazey . After 3 minutes of the 2nd half , City were awarded a corner . A great cross from Richie Rundle caused problems for St Blazey to clear . In the mix up Joe Partridge blasted the ball home to give Truro a 2-0 lead .

Truro domionated the play until the final 10 minutes of the match . St Blazey threw everything at Truro ,. playing with 2 at the back and 4 up front . A fierce shot by a St Blazey player was excellently saved by Pennington . Eddy who was a menace up front for City , was replaced by Alex Rowe and Rundle was replaced by Tom Hardwick . Conway came off after receiving a head injury to be replaced by Lewis Ellis , who put in a great display at right back with some wicked tackling and penetrating crosses . Martin Moon and Sam Cooper were again outstanding in the centre of midfield .

Another fantastic display from this exciting bunch of players . Having probabally played the 2 hardest teams in the cup and not conceeding any goals , justifies their place in the Semi's.

We have started a job a will finish it . we are half way there and know what we have got to achieve , and will do what it takes to bring the Rathbone Cup to Truro City Football Club for the 1st time in their history .

Team.
