Man City asked for a minutes applause and they felt some of their fans may disrupt it and the applause would drown them out rather than have a minutes silence.
Well if thats the case, say if one fan disrupts it then man city will get no tickets at old trafford for the next 10years.
They should have the CCTV cameras on them and then man city could ban them.
Well done Man Ure, have the silence and show them up for the shite they are. _________________ There are 10 types of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that dont.

My office overlooks Boscawen Street and each year it never ceases to amaze me the number of people, of all ages, who ignore the two minutes silence at 11am on 11th November.
You will always get a few idiots. Do you really feel confident that if the roles were reversed, there wouldnt be a mindless section of United fans that would act in a disrespctfull way?
To my mind, Manchester City are merely trying to ensure that the United players and officials who lost their lives at Munich are trated with respect. However it seems as though United will take the opportunity of stoking up anti City feelings by insisting on the minutes silence which undoubtedly will be broken by some morons.
What good will that do? |

minute silence every year for this!
out of respect for a tragic accident. I agree with applause for an individual or something, but something so tragic as Munich, deserves the respect of silence. If City fans disrespect this, then more fool them _________________ YNWA JFT96 |

I think if they have the silence, you would be able to hear a pin drop.
There are times to cast football prejudices aside, this is one of those times, I think both sets of supporters will do MANCHESTER proud on the day.
Should that not be the case it would not only be a sad day for football but a sad one for all the people of Manchester.

They're also having special kits for the match, the red half will be wearing a replica of the 1958 kit, devoid of sponsors details, or player numbers, and the blue half will sport a kit, with the sponsors details replaced with a black banding.
I tried getting tickets for the match as I'm on holiday then, but they're all gone. |

For once the two sides should put there differences aside and pay there respects to those footballers who lost there lifes. A tragic accident like the Munich disaster puts things in perspective. There is more to life than football. _________________ "I never forget a face, but in your case I'll be glad to make an exception"

What is relevant to Manchester City fans is that one of their greatest players, namely Frank Swift (played in goal for England as well), died in the same disaster. So any fans from the blue half of Manchester who lack respect need their heads testing.
I follow by accident and design practically every other team in Britain than ManYoo but when I consider how talented players like Duncan Edwards, possibly the greatest English football player ever, were cut down in their prime then you have to give due regard to what was a truly shattering disaster 50 years ago. |

A memorial poster at Old Trafford to mark the 50th anniversary of the Munich air disaster has been vandalised with paint bombs.
What kind of sick, disgusting, disrespectful scum would do this? Whoever they are they should feel very ashamed of themselves! _________________ "I never forget a face, but in your case I'll be glad to make an exception"

A mate of mine (who is a Manc by birth) used to be a season ticket holder at MU until he gave it up of the Glazer business. He was always disgusted by the behaviour of the mindless morons who used to disrespect Munich - especially fathers who would encourage their young sons to make aeroplane crashing signs. The worst offenders were always Leeds "fans". We'll see what happens... _________________ There is life out there... |

My apologies, DuchyWill, I didn't mean to embarass you. I didn't realise you were a Leeds fan until I checked on another thread! As one who has been to literally hundreds of matches at dozens of different grounds (inc. Leeds!) I know that you cannot tar all fans with the same brush. It's only the small mindless minority of so-called "fans" who give the majority a bad name. _________________ There is life out there... |

.I was really pleased that the minutes silence was observed impecably and take back all i said on an earlier posting regarding mindless morons.
Can it be too much to ask that M U fans take a leaf out of Citys book and stop making references to Hillsborough when they play Liverpool?. |

I wouldn't hold my breath but always hope for a change in attitudes. _________________ There is life out there... |
