Bet the title made our American friends heart skip a beat
Anyway for the benefit of Gazza, as previously mentioned at the match tonight (such are the bizzare nature of the conversations behind the goal at matches) here is Ireland's entry for the Eurovision Song contest:

those wishing to listen (or are brave enough to listen) to a longer clip then Youtube has various offerings. A case of life imitating art given that Father Ted once trod similar territory.
I believe Dustin the Vulture used to hang out with the legendary Zig & Zag off The Big Breakfast.

Frankly, I don't know what to say. That's a little odd and off-putting, but I suppose I need to stop being such a chicken and get behind my namesake turkey, rooting Ireland on to victory in the Eurovision Champions League, or whatever it is.
I just hope that if this turkey doesn't top dervish, he isn't headed for gravy and dressing. I'd hate to see Dustin eaten! _________________ UP to the South! |

Is this thing really being held in Serbia? Really? Is it some sort of punishment for the whole ethnic cleansing thing?
And does Dustin the Turkey really have to wait until May to take the stage? I hope he doesn't lose his momentum! _________________ UP to the South! |

Dustin, this is the same competition that launched ABBA (aargh!) onto the global stage so you never know, Dustin the Turkey (or according to the Guardian he's a Vulture) might roll into a town near you in the good ol
US
of
A
soon.
The voting system quite often shares the same nuances employed in, for example, Florida. (it's a stitch up, (allegedly - sorry Mr Bush)). The previous years winning country gets to host the whole ghastly affair next time around, think
The Gong Show
but worse. Ireland made a habit of winning it a few years back - unfortunately nearly bankrupting the National broadcasting service (RTE) as a result.
C'mon the Turkey !

Dustin,
The voting is mostly POLITICAL, the United Kingdom having held Americas hand during her shaky period therefore suffer greatly on the voting meters. |

I'll see if I can get myself, Brian, Darren and others warmed up for next years' entry. _________________
