It appears City are going to do better than most of us thought at the start of the season, looks as if they will beat the 100 points barrier. _________________ "CHAMPIONS AGAIN"

Be great if they got more than 100 again this season. _________________

Six wins and 2 draws will put me in with a shout for this one.
Looking forward to the 'prize'. |

Now we are coming down the home straight and it looks like being a close finish, as we all expected!
Is there anybody who has given up yet, or are you all hopefull of collecting?
The winner will receive a trophy which they can keep ,but as we look as though promotion is a certainty ( fingers crossed to avoid being blamed if it all goes pear shaped!) a new competition will be launched in the summer. and this will be very interesting to predict!
Obviously, I will let you know more about this later but for now let's get this campaign done and dusted.
( Big G is confident but who is the favourite in your reckoning?) |

Allforone and Northern Soul can't get it spot on - we can't get 23 points in 8 games, however if we win all 8 or win 7 & draw 1 then they will be closest! |

Not bad for a early season prediction though, may be the only chance i get now as you claim the prediction trophy

No chickens are being counted just yet! Everything can change from match to match, the young guns have been pretty accurate lately so the final outcome is far from being settled.
It'll be a while yet before the rotund female exercises her vocal chords!
On a related note, I ordered a replacement Prediction Trophy yesterday. Seeing as I was the last person who could confirm its existence (although I did pass it on) I've taken the step of supplying a new one - as kitsch as the old one! (Although hopefully this time the word 'prediction' is spelt correctly!) |

Seeing as how we've sweated Dawlish and Corsham a bit (maybe unreasonably, but they've been within striking distance), I don't know that I'd have wanted the promotion chase to be any tighter than it is, so I'm at a loss as to why I only predicted 90 points for us.
If City get only two wins and two draws from the last eight, I can still win the prize, but why on earth would I want that? We want to see City striding, not limping, into the Southern League!
Looks like I'm out of the running, and it's a good thing, too . . . _________________ UP to the South! |

Dustin I am gutted for you. I was only saying to my wife the other day that I may have to take a trip across the "Pond" to make a presentation in May.
Oh well, maybe next season.
All the best mate. |

Perhaps I underestimated Truro City's dominance. They are going to easily beat my prediction of 88 points. They only need 3 more points from 8 games to reach that total. Maybe 88 points will be a good bet for next season? _________________ "I never forget a face, but in your case I'll be glad to make an exception"

Who didn't look very hard then! This thread was here all the time. Maybe a certain person was feeling the strain of a certain Champions League match and ,with all the shaking, had difficulty in hitting the keys on his PC!
The trophy has been ordered & all we need then is a winner! Hopefully it won't be a tie as then I will have to cut it in half!
(By the way, I'm a Grandad! Jack was born 8 weeks early, on the 18th ,but is doing OK. Just had to share the news with you lot. Cheers. Paddy.) |

Well, it must've been several pages back, then.
It looks as though we might all have missed low! Well done, City!
And good for you, too, Paddy! Tell mom and dad congratulations from the States. Now the fun part begins -- you get to spoil the little tyke and walk away! _________________ UP to the South! |

To sort of adapt a phrase.
The Prediction and Points League's are won over the whole season and not the last few games. Don't be too hard on yourself Silverlander _________________ We Stand Together |

Who is this Big G ?
( Surely not the same person who lived up the road from me when I lived in the City Hotel,[ now Inn], went to school with me, played darts with me for the Carriers Inn Bude, the list goes on,
Maybe this competition has been fixed from the start and you have all been chasing a trophy which was Big G bound from the beginning.
On the other hand it's just pure coincidence and luck that it may turn out this way. |

After tonights result I could be on for this...
Alright Paddy - they will know this is no fix - I went to see Derren Brown in the Hall for Cornwall last night - Brilliant - but even he could not not have forecast the correct points total for the season.
I had almost forgotten the Carriers Inn Darts Team - but I am glad you reminded me.
3 points on Saturday and the Trophy is all mine...
Can you present it in person at a home game...???
[could still not happen, I know that - but its the closest I've got all season] |
