Corsham Match Report - City On Brink Of Championship
Truro City produced a Championship winning performance against Corsham revenging their home defeat in December, the result was never in doubt and with news filtering through at the end of the match that nearest rivals Dawlish lost the Tigers can now win the Championship at home next Saturday against Radstock.
City took the lead on two minutes when Corsham's keeper Gingell collided with a defender and dropped Scott Walker's cross for Andy Watkins to pounce, the surface looked good but the bounce was very uneven and caused problems for both teams during the match.
Truro increased their lead just past the half hour mark when Watkins lob was palmed out to Wills who scored from 25 yards to send the City faithfull wild, the second half saw City take their advantage to three when after good work from Martin on the byline saw his cross converted by Watkins and in the process scored their 100th league goal of the season.
Corsham though struck back almost immediately when Simon Gray scored with a header from a rare corner, but City were not to be denied and on 76 minutes Yetton lobbed Gingell and ran through to make it 4-1 with Broad adding a fifth on full time.
Speaking to the fans at the end of the match he declared that he was very pleased by the performance but wanted the team to go on and win all the remaining games and go past the magic 100 points for the second season running.

The crowd
Comfortably Corsham's biggest crowd of the season for the visit of Truro City, 313. As opposed to 141 who watched the Corsham v. Dawlish fixture.
