Great result today think Chapman and Stamp were given a run out to get confidence back and boy did it work for Stamp he could of had seven or eight himself, thought Skinner was outstanding today. |

A statement match from the Reserves, too! Was Mewton in charge, or was his move to Penzance with immediate effect?
Stamp has hardly set the world on fire for the firsts, so he's probably logging some Reserves minutes to build his skills, keep him fit, give him a little success to work from. And then to score five goals! He was, I assume Man of the Match?

Trevor Mewton remains manager for the rest of this season, good result at Newquay too with them holding Helston 2-2 two more wins will do it.

Trevor was in charge and if you want to catch up with his views he was featured on Dave Deacon's half hour slot - no doubt it'll be available on 'playback' on the BBC Cornwall website.
To be honest Stampy was way too good for this level, mind you so were any number of the guys today. Highlight had to be Danny Harris' audacious lob/chip from an angle in the box which seemed to clear the heads of the majority of the Hayle side (they were transfixed) and left the keeper grasping at the air as the ball dropped at the last millisecond under the crossbar - Mr. Tregunna likened it to a George Best special and it was hard not to concur. As for Chappy getting a run out I doubt if he broke enough sweat to need a shower it was so quiet up his end. |

I don't understand why Jason Chapman was playing for the reserves, he has had such a great season and always seems confident.
Dean Stamp i can agree with, he needed a run out to keep his fitness up because he hasen't started a lot of games recently.

i can't understand why they were playing either. both players were very professional with stamp working hard for 90minutes and taking his goals very well, and chappers never stopped barking orders demanding a clean sheet with a good 1 on 1 save towards the end. well done all the boys who played yesterday. mom jamie skinner |

Jason Chapman Has had a amazing season at Truro and has played a very key role in southern league promotion!
And Dean Stamp had played very well as well scoring so great goals which Truro have needed

The reason why both players were in the reserves was because they are both lacking in confidence. I agree, Chapman has had a solid season but of late he has been weak at claiming crosses and commanding his box. He will have to be more confident againt bigger, stronger opposition in the Southern League. With Vaughan looking strong and Stevo fit again there will be fierce competition for the no1 spot.
As for Stamp, hopefully he will get his confidence up for next season and show us what he can do. I think we forget how good a standard the Western Prem is. The guy's still young and appears eager to learn. It's not easy fitting into such an established side.
