What a surprise, the original £4 billion ish has now increased to £9 billion and we are still 4 years away.
I was please when we got it, but it would of been cheaper to let Paris win and if 10million wanted to watch the olympics give them £900 to go and watch it in Paris.
They could of built better changing rooms and showers for sunday league football, built sport centres, swimming pools, given clubs a lot of equipment etc etc but that would of meant diverting money away from London.
It will be the biggest waste of money on a single project seen in this country.

You do realise, of course, that the French are quietly sniggering into their delicately lace-edged hankies having heaved the mother of all sighs. |

Doesn't it seem to be the same every 4 years - wherever the Olympics are held.
Escalating costs, things not expected to be ready on time, etc, etc..
But each time the 'Hosts' seem to pull it off at the last minute and everything goes well - lets hope it does for us. |
