 Next season is undoubtedly gonna be harder, but have had the priverlige of seeing first hand the lads in action every week, i can say that they will do cornish football proud in the southern league and are gonna be a real handfull with there attacking open style of football(as old Alan Partridge says its gonna be a breath of fresh air !).
The Squad.
Chappie-Calm assured, and consistant.
Stevo-Coming back 2 fitness, but looks like a class act.
Ashey-Was sorley missed, but when fit different gravy(the rock !lol).
G Power-Seasoned vet-competent, experienced, just what u need in a higher league.
Smudge From Sheffield-Good pro, ball playin centre half, good reading of the game and a good communicater.
Walks-Unberlievable ability,great left footed ping, great dilivery.
Marcus-How this kid aint playin football league i will never Know,wouldnt swap him 4 anyone up 2the championship(Flamini better lol) truly class act, great bloke.
Broady-Absouloute ball player,will think 5 times faster than anyone at Southern league level, technically brilliant !.
Willsie- in the whole no one better 4 leagues and leagues above, great quality and a top bloke.
Tolley-Ya dont play 4 England at a any level, if u arnt very good !-in the top 3 for technical ability at the club!, just needs to stay injury free but a brilliant player !.
Watto-Pure pace, frightens defenders, good finisher plus makes inteligent runs, could play a lot higher !.
Reski-up and commin, could be a future star, great ability and touch, he is the future-needs a run in the team, but personally speeking class!
Yettsi-What can i say, great kid funny, superb finisher(apparently a Cornish ledgend !lol).goals goals and more goals, if he comes back flying then good luck Southern league defenders !.
Wattsie-New comes from a Championship side-GREAT ability, can head the ball well,reads the game well and has a worldie left foot!. |

I agree whole heartedly with Vizzle's comments. The fact that TCFC managed to sign most of these players at the start of the Western League campaign is a credit to the officials at the club.
Most of these talented players have played together for two seasons now and I am confident we can push for promotion next season. |

If we can make it through June, we're okay, really, as the pre-season starts right away -- and while you're not in it (snicker, snicker) won't Euro 2008 be some distraction? I've got the Wizards to help me through, but roll on July!

Vizzle i like your optimism about the players but lets be realistic about this, yes Truro have a good squad that have been together a few seasons now but also as you move up the league the better teams have better players there is also longer travelling for away games, now that city are not going fulltime who is to say that certain players could make tuesday night games away in the London area or up in the midlands depending what league you are in. Work commitments do affect players and hopefully this does not interfere with city. |

Scouse, Truro won the Western Prem by a margin of 17 points. That's almost 6 wins. That means we can afford to lose about 8 games next season and still win the league. I think we'll find the Southern 1 fairly straight forward. The Southern Prem will be the real test. |

The confidence is great Lil' Crouch (btw, isn't that sort of an oxymoron? ), but we may want to be a bit more patient at the next step.
Making four jumps in four years would be awesome (be one of a small select few, for sure), but the advantages of catching our breath a bit and taking the measure of our next big leap might be considered.
We may have to face the fact that we'll lose more often next season and if we're flying a bit too high that return to earth is gonna hurt more than it might.
I want to go up again, of course, but I'm calibrating my hopes on being competitive and finishing top third. Anything beyond will be bonus!

Why on earth hang around in Division One? With the right signings to add to the present squad, I see no reason to waste time in another Division that from what one hears, still isn't that good a standard. |

Well, maybe I'm being too cautious, wanting to "hang around" in Division One, but I've been reading for two years now about how the "real" test is always the one after next, not the one we're facing -- but that can't be true forever, and as City are now on terra incognita, I thought it best to err on the side of patience.
But, hey -- nobody'll be happier if we do go up again!

I look on both sections of Division 1 as the 50/50 leagues, in the quest to cut DOWN ON TRAVELLING (ha ha who wants Truro) competition has suffered, the standard of football would be more even if there were a Premier Division, a Division 1 and a Division 2, on that basis I would expect Truro to be good enough for a top 6 position in Division 1, as the leagues are split I think it is not too much to expect a TOP THREE finish in whatever division City are eventually allocated.
Many clubs in the London Area have mentioned their concerns about transport costs etc when travelling down to Cornwall, this is understood when they have a job to balance their books in recent years were almost all games are local. Maybe clubs should appeal to local businesses for a one game 'away-day' sponsorship, I am sure any sponsors would get good publicity because of the novelty factor.
Truro would need 21 such sponsors if we didn't have Mr Heaney.
I know this is gobbledygook but I hope good gobbledygook.
