YOUTH DEVELOPMENT MEETING  Reply with quote

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ADD ANYTHING TO THIS POST

I went along to this meeting to see what would be said regarding my issues with the club and it seems to have done that.

Kevin invited everyone to ask questions and he was joined by Chris Webb and a member of the FA (I can't remeber what he was called).

The club will now be looking into having a committee set up to help run and address some of the issues that people have with the club.

The Youth Development will be starting up again but with a new Youth Development Manager called Lee Barrow and it has been suggested he will be able to help take the club's youth teams into the future. Steve Matthews was asked to step down by the club as it was decided he was not the best person alone to take the club youth development forward.

There was talk about ongoing and further training for the coaches of the youth teams.

PR and Administration issues will be looked at as well as communicating with parents and players.

Other issues like team kits, trophies etc were touched upon. Kevin made a point of suggesting sponsorship for the youth teams to help bring some finance to the youth teams.

There will be a fee for the youths to pay and I mentioned to Chris that this is not uncommon in any club but perhaps he could look at payment options for parents.

There were also other subjects spoken about but I cannot remember them all at the moment although I spoke to Chris after the meeting and asked for better communication regarding important issues like this one and not going full time for the firsts and suggested perhaps that important things like this should be mentioned on the website to prevent some of the serial gossipers fabricating on the truths. He did take it on board and will feed it back to Kevin.

We should know more about these issues and when the youth development restarts within the next four weeks.

So do you feel it was genial and productive, then? Not a lot of bitter acrimony or anything?

Do the parents and youth of Cornwall still feel positive about the role TCFC will play?

I think it's one of those "wait and see" moments. It sounded positive but actions speak louder than words.
