| Lenny to be new Tivvy manager?? |
|
|
This is all over the Tivvy forum, and the rumour was circulating around the Les Phillips Cup Final.
Lenny's as much a legend there for playing as he is here for managing. I hope
they
treat him right.
Could be an interesting return in a year or two's time!
Here's a thought - City at an away match 250 miles away - Tivvy at home - could be worth a trip! |

Well that's story been running most this week think it is quite possible Lenny will go there but Falmouth has been mentioned as well, as for the scenario 250 mile trip to watch your team or to watch another team know what I would do hands down.

Whether Dave Leonard goes to Tiverton or not, one thing has been very clear regarding Tiverton for the past few years - they need a new manager!
Martyn Rogers has been in charge there for far too long. The Tivvy fans say it every time they lose and common sense says that apart from the likes of Ferguson & maybe Dario Gradi at Crewe, no one should manage a side for as long as Rogers has done at Tivvy. They need a fresh face in charge there to liven things up, because they've done little in the past few years league-wise. Their glory days were the 90s in the Western League and Rogers has been there since the early 90s.
Trouble is, Rogers is not just the team manager at Ladysmead, he's got fingers in other pies as well, and he's the chairman's mate, so if they ever appoint someone else to manage the team, Rogers would still be there in other capacities.
Just an observation from a Mangotsfield fan (and we've had a few managers in recent years!), but it's a fairly common view about Tivvy from friends at other rival Southern League clubs as well....... |

Thanks for your observations I'm a regular reader of their forum and agree the fans feel that he's stayed in charge too long and a new face is required.
Martyn is the commercial manager as well at the club and if as you say he is a close friend of the chairman then he would more then likely still have a major input into the club.
The fans also seem to be looking over their shoulders as we progress up City V Tiverton in a league match is even more likely to happen and we would welcome a local derby. _________________ The History Makers Are On The March |

The league would fixture this midweek and so spoil a big game, just as they did with Bideford, Barnstaple. Even Dawlish was on Boxing Day so no public transport spoiled what could of been a good day out. _________________ Sir Matt, Sir Alex yet 5 times and no knights.

Joking Robin!
I expect most would choose option 3 - give the reserves their support at home. |
