The Non-League Paper - STEWART YETTON  Reply with quote

THE NON-LEAGUE PAPER - Sunday 11th May 2008.

The last five minutes:

This week: Stewart Yetton - Truro City

ON THE SPOT:
Position: Striker
Date of birth: 27/07/1985
Place of birth: Plymouth
Marital Status: Single
Job: Advisor for a mortgage company
Former clubs: Plymouth, Weymouth, Tiverton

THE LAST...
Car you bought?
A flame red Peugeot 206. I can't wait until my speeding ban runs out next week!

Film you saw?

The Bourne Ultimatum. A classic.

Book you read?
Roberto Duran's autobiography. I'm really into boxing and Duran is an all time favourite.

Trophy won?
The Toolstation Western Premier with Truro and the top scorer award with 40 league goals.

Goal scored?
Two on the last day of the season.

Time you were sent off?
I've never been sent off. I've played all 57 games this season and didn't get booked. I just hang around on the edge of the box waiting for the ball all game.

Injury?
A back injury when I was with Plymouth.

Time you paid to watch a football match?
Plymouth Parkway v Saltash United in the South West Peninsula League. It was a blinding game and Saltash ran out 1-0 winners.

Last time you had a takeaway?
I had a chicken kebab after the Plymouth-Saltash game.

THE JURY'S OUT:

Adebayor or Torres?
Torres. He's the ultimate striker - an absolute speed demon and great finisher.

Sky Sports or Sentana?
Sky - Sentana is great and getting a lot better but I could watch Sky Sports News for hours.

Chinese or Indian?
I'll eat anything but I'd probably say Indian - I do like Lamb Dansak.

Carribean with the Mrs or Magaluf with the lads?
Definitely Magaluf - you've got to have a laugh - you can't take yourself too seriously.

TIME ADDED ON:

Who's the best player you've played with?
Mickey Evans at Plymouth. he used to boast about how his Premiership Player of the Month award was sandwiched in between Bergkamp's and Zola's.

Who's the loudest manager you've ever played under?
Paul Sturrock, again at Plymouth. He was ferocious and commanded respect.

Which star player do you play like?
Gerd Muller. He used to come to life in the last thrid of the pitch.

Who's your travelling partner?

Marcus Martin.

What three words best describe you?
Funny, charismatic and intelligent.

Which newspapers do you read?
The NLP, The Sun and the Sunday Independent.

How much cash do you have on you now?
£70. You never know when you might need some cash.

What radio station do you listen to?
Radio Five-Live for the phone-ins.

Five people you would LEAST like to have round for a dinner party?
Didier Drogba - he's a cheat. Bin Laden. Even though I'm an Arsenal fan I'll say Emanuel Eboue. I think John Terry is a bit too big time as well. And Magaret Thatcher. She was a woman in control and that's a recipe for disaster.

AND FINALLY:

Who is your best friend in football?
Marcus Martin. I've known him since we were ten and we're still playing together.

Have to say, I think Yetts under-rates himself a bit. "Hangs around the edge of the box waiting for the ball" my donkey! Greavsie did that. Lineker. Anyone who watches Truro knows that Yetts covers a huge amount of miles every game, harassing defenders, forcing errors, dragging defenders away...
Hope you keep doing it next season, Yetts. If they find a big hairy-***ed striker to do some GBH in the opposition's penalty area, you'll pick off as many goals as you got this season!

Got to agree with that...
Don't think anyone can run more miles in a match than Yetts.
Going back to early season I overheard some visiting supporters saying something along the the lines of 'How many Yettons have they got on the pitch' He seems to be everywhere.

None more so than at home to Melksham town. Yetts came on and single handedly turned the game around. He dropped deap to collect the ball and forced defenders into making mistakes. Without Yetts on the pitch I'm sure we would have lost that game.
