Truro City 4 - 0 Gloweth .
Playing against the Sunday League Div 2 leaders for the second time this season , City controlled this game from start to finish .
Manager Phil Hodges played his u18s Rathbone Trophy team in the 1st half , and was rewarded with an outstanding performance . Goals from Liam Eddy , Richie Rundle and an excellent free kick from Sam Cooper on the edge of the Gloweth box , gave Truro and commanding 3-0 lead at half-time .
The second half was equally the same . Hodges picked his u16s for the second half . Playing into the wind their controlled passing game , ( that has been so wonderfull to watch this season ) proved to good for Gloweth . Great movement and communications from the team lead to a penalty . A Truro shot was heading for goal when a Gloweth defender rose his arm , just as the ball was about to cross the line . Sam Gerken who had a great game out of position , stepped up and calmly sent the keeper the other way .
Numerous other chances came , but the Gloweth keeper was excellent in keeping the score to 4-0 to Truro .
This was an excellent opportunity for Phil Hodges to see 4 new players that were given the chance to sign for Truro , after putting in great performances . Those players were Ben Williams , Jack Parton , Ryan Mcshane and Joe Ridgeway . The later is currently having trials with Torquay United and declined the opportunity to sign . We wish him luck .
