You can also get the grains in 50lb bags at the feed store for $9 - $15 each. And if you get whole grains you will need a mill to grind it. They can be found on line, but compare and shop around. There is also, (my favorite), dehydrating. Large heavy amounts of fruit and veg. dry to very small light wt. products that once in a freezer bag can be stored in a cool dry place for years till it's needed. Then just rehydrate,

Home sick, tell them about the mills we got and if you have a web site for them, post the link. They were about 28 smackers folks. Not only are they good for grinding, but it's a great way to build up them biceps...lol.

Besides, if the power grid fails, for whatever reason, those electric grinders will be nothing more than decorative paperweights and doorstops.

The grain mill we bought is from Grizzly on Amazon, for $22.95 + $8.20 shipping. Grizzly H7775 Cast Iron Corn / Grain Mill It's a hand crank, but like Alien said, when the lights are out......
