The 12th Imam - Islam's False Messiah
In the four wars that Arab armies fought against Israel since the founding of the state (1948, 1956, 1967, 1973) their motto was: “Drive the Jews into the sea!” Now, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad is demanding that Israel be “wiped off the map,” and the Palestinian Prime Minister, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, does not recognize Israel’s right to exist.

In other words, the State of Israel should be removed from the face of the earth. This is the Arab and Moslem “final solution.”

Why do the Arab states—with the current exception of Egypt and Jordan—want to destroy Israel? It cannot be because of lack of space—the territory of the Arab countries is 613 times larger than Israel. In Israel, 785 people live on every square mile of land, compared to just 47 in the Arab countries. It cannot be because of money—many Arab nations are rich with oil; Israel is not. And while the Arabs want to “liberate” Jerusalem, the city is not mentioned even once in the Koran.

Nevertheless, Islamists are calling for a Holy War (jihad) against Israel. The emphasis is on the term “holy”—a war with religious rather than secular objectives.

Until 9/11, Western politicians and reporters were slow to recognize the great importance of religion in the Middle East, which for the Moslems influences not only their emotions but also their political decisions. As Church has been separated from state in the so-called Christian world, non-Moslems found it very hard to accept the fact that religion still plays a political role for people of the 21st century.

So what is the religious trigger that causes Moslems to be so vehemently opposed to Israel?

Martin Luther called the devil “God’s mimic.” Therefore, it is not surprising that Islam not only copied and falsified the Bible, but subsequently also imitated the Messiah. However, the difference between the Islamic messiah and the biblical Messiah is that the former is not a redeemer but rather a warlord. He will use the sword of Mohammed to force non-Moslems to convert to Islam and coerce lukewarm Moslems into becoming strictly observant— and militant.

The Islamic messiah is called the Mahdi, which means The Guided One.

He is also known as the 12th Imam, the son of 11th Imam al-Hasan al-Askari, who died in 874 in a prison in Samarra (in present day Iraq) without leaving a son and successor. Aer his death the teaching arose that he did have a son aer all, the 12th Imam, who was called Mohammed ibn Hasan al-Mahdi al-Muntazar. He disappeared and is “hidden” by Allah until the time when he is revealed as the Mahdi (messiah).

Enshrining a Myth: The al-Askari Mosque in Samarra, Iraq houses the cellar where the 12th imam ostensibly disappeared
