Antiwar Leftists Attempt to Hijack Memorial Day

Democratic Presidential candidate John Edwards plans to make Memorial Day, a sacred time for many Americans, an antiwar statement.

“This Memorial Day weekend, that means more than just getting in your car, driving to the beach, or a parade, or a picnic and saying the words, ‘We support our troops,’ ” Edwards said.

“We must take responsibility and take action together — as citizens, as Americans, as patriots. To support the troops. To end the war.”

Edwards has started a website called supporthtetroopsendthewar.com, and he has apologized for voting to authorize the war at its start.

Perhaps Mr. Edwards needs to read the Eagles’ mission statement–there is no support of the troops without support of their mission. End of story.
