I just came back from the pub. Coming in I obvioulsy turned off the silent tv everybody was trying to ignore. Half an hour or so later that waiter came in, told us angrily that it was forbidden to turn the tv off, that it was part of their "concept".

Great ****ing concept.

I turned it off again and left. Guess if I or any of my twelve friends will go there again.

...of the TV-B-Gone, that gets the best (and most enjoyable results). One of mine (as some other posters here know), is mounted inside a Western-style canvas hat, right at the top of the crown (with the LED just poking out a ventilation grommet hole in the front). I wired a small momentary switch from the unit, down to the right underside of the brim, where I can be seen to be "adjusting" the fit of my hat, when actually activating my TVBG.

I like the older version for this, as you are seen to be simply gazing at the TV, and in my case lifting my pint of Guinness, tipping my head back, when the TVBG goes through its list of POWER OFF codes and then off goes the screen! My hands are seen empty (except for the pint!), and in all the times I've gone back to that pub, no one has ever gotten a clue. And why would they?

"Oh, sir, I think that man over there has a TV remote built into his hat!"

"Yes, ma'am. I think you've had about enough for tonight, don't you?"

But this has never, ever happened (being caught), and instead of being seen holding a TVBG at arm's length, and getting tossed from the pub, my friends and I have had nothing but enjoyment from seeing the wait staff and the odd customer pop up like a jack-in-the-box to turn it back on with alarming regularity.

The idea of a TVBG inside a hat is just too weird for people to catch onto, it seems. But it works flawlessly.
