Rhyming for fun and irritation? Hoo boy, this should be fun!!!
Owed to Why I Slam
The folks who post on Why I Slam are of a different sort
Who half the time defend a faith, the other half make sport.
We'll waste our time contending just because we think it's fun
Yet never stop to ponder why the laundry's never done.
While I and Marwan quite calmly discuss Islamic factions,
The wife, dressed in saran wrap, tries to offer a distraction.
"I get it dear, you've made your point, I'll be there in a second"
And forty minutes later try to remember why she beckoned.
"I'll end it here, there is no need to waste another minute
'specially when this exercise has got no merit in it.
So half a dozen verses will for now remain unposted.
Not bad for only fifteen minute's worth of thought," he boasted. _________________ Knowledge is power. Power corrupts. If I study hard, will I become a bad person? |

But a fine command of meter and rhyme. Maybe, since Salah seems to have abandoned this thread, we could turn it over to Ceshure.
There once was a Sufi named Salah
Who devoted his young life to Allah
Tho' Why Kuffar was near,
He oft wasn't here
Abandoning us without dawah. |

Rhoda, nicely done. Limmerick never occurred to me.
However, a recently seen Burger King commercial has offered inspiration. I've gotten so much mileage from Helen Reddy tunes over the years...... Here's another example. Now to those who will take offense, I apologize. To Ms. Reddy, I do not. Note: I'm assuming an Islamic equivalent to the daytime drama Ryan's Hope.
I Am Woman (the Islamic version)
I am woman; it’s a bore,
‘Cause I can’t set foot out the door
I need an escort just to step outside the house.
In my bare feet scrub the floor,
And I’ll be pregnant evermore.
And my husband will protect me from the mouse.
Oh yes, life’s a breeze when you’re never asked to think.
I have days of ease just standing at my sink.
‘Cause I have to, I’ll submit to my man.
I am meek, and so inferior.
I am woman.
I’m a sucker for romance
And every time I get a chance
I will shed a million tears for Raheem’s Hope
Because his sister’s husband’s mother,
Who’s in love with Raheem’s brother
Had a baby by the grandson of the Pope
‘Cause I have to, I’ll hide behind my veil.
I am meek, and so inferior.
I am woman. _________________ Knowledge is power. Power corrupts. If I study hard, will I become a bad person? |

When you look at me
All that you see
is the scarf that covers my hair
My words you can't hear
because you're too full of fear,
mouth gaping, all you do is stare.
You think it's not my choice
in your own "liberation" you rejoice.
You think I'm uneducated,
trapped, oppressed and subjugated,
You're so thankful that you're free.
you've got it wrong:
You're the weak and I'm the strong.
For I've rejected the trap of man:
Fancy clothes - low neck, short skirt,
those are devices for pain and hurt.
I'm not falling for that little plan.
I'm a person with ideas and thought.
I'm not for sale, I can't be bought.
I'm me - not a fancy toy,
I won't decorate anyone's arm,
nor be promoted for my charm.
There is more to be than playing coy.
Living life as a balancing game - mother,
daughter, wife, nurse, cleaner, cook, lover
and still bring home a wage.
Who thought up this modern "freedom"?
Where man can love 'em and man can leave 'em.
This is not free, but life in a cage.
Always jumping to a male agenda
competing on his terms.
No job share, no creche facilities,
no feeding and nappy changing amenities
No time off for menstrual pain,
"hormones," they laugh, "what a shame!"
No equal pay for equal skill;
your job they can always fill.
No promotion unless you're sterilised.
No promotion unless you're sexually terrorised.
And this is liberation?
you can have your life.
Mine - it has less strife.
I cover and I get respected,
surely that's to be expected,
for I won't demean the feminine,
I won't live to male criterion,
I dance to my own tune
and I hope you see this very soon.
For your own sake - wake up and use your sight.
Are you so sure that you are right? |

saira sang:
For your own sake - wake up and use your sight.
Are you so sure that you are right?

This lyric in its totality seems mightily concerned with what other folks think of you. To me, that is sad. |

OK, Salah, just for you, I'll transplant something from WI that played to rave reviews a while back.
To the tune of "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean"-
I think Kadaveri can read minds
For when he posts links on Islam,
Instead of just letting me research,
He must tell me how wrong that I am.
On Why Islam when we're discussing theology,
On Why Islam people can never agree.
I've read the stuff by Omenaka
I'm not really sure what he meant
And then there is Molly the Dolly
Successfully dealing with lint. [she was having dryer troubles]
On Why Islam when we're discussing theology,
On Why Islam people can never agree.
From the great white North comes Dave A.
Who researches things half to death
And then there are Tony and Bayleaf
Who both think they're wasting their breath.
On Why Islam when we're discussing theology,
On Why Islam people can never agree.
From Marwan we always get dawah
and expect him to pontificate
For curt commentary there's Misbah
And Steady just can't get a date.
On Why Islam when we're discussing theology,
On Why Islam people can never agree.
We tolerate dear Aviatrix
The D2D posts are a curse
As sick as we are of Jim di 3
This stuff by kapoofnik is worse
On Why Islam when we're discussing theology,
On Why Islam people can never agree. _________________ Knowledge is power. Power corrupts. If I study hard, will I become a bad person? |

When Mr. Kad is telling you that you are wrong, he is telling you that you are wrong according to his beleifs. No disrespect intended. No! He can not read minds. He wants you to understand Islam according to what he belief. This is why he will not let you research on your own. Do not blame him directly, this is how WI wants it. There rules don't allow you to talk much or at all about other forms of Islam.
On Why Islam when we're discussing theology,
On Why Islam people can never agree.
Humans can never agree. It's not only a WI thing. We do it here too.

Hey .. I had composed this "jihadist poem & dance" some time ago, but no one had reacted... not even a simple "bravo"...
(Jihadist slow quadrille)
Allah do we dearly love,
And hope for Paradise above,
Worldly things away we shove,
So pure and simple is our love.
It keeps us warm without a stove
(we don't need a pair of gloves,
or illegitimate alcoves,
nossir, none of the above)
so strong and simple is our love.
We thank Allah for His Grace,
We have peace and have solace,
The bitter enemy we face,
He`ll turn away soon in disgrace,
and Islam he will embrace
to stop threats to his airspace.
O, do merge in our embrace,
warm yourself at our fireplace,
at the vulcan of our love.
(jihadists perform, in succession : “Right and left,” “Forward two,” “Balance,” “Cross over,” “Forward four.” “Ladies chain,” “Hands all round,” “Right and left all round,” &c.) |

In The Dark
Their minds have been indoctrinated,
Their lives have been less,
They must change now or they will continue to regress.
A fairytale that's gone bad today ,
A culture that intertwines,
They say it's not religion but I can't read between the lines.
They cry when they pray aloud,
They swear it's God's will,
They strap on a bomb, run for the dawn, and pray they make a kill.
The kuffar is their mortal enemy,
Yet they don't even know why,
They watch Inside edition and read rag magazines just to prove their lies.
They are afraid of black dogs,
They are afraid of the their bark,
They drown in mental chaos because they live in the Dark. _________________ I am a participant on "Al Gore's Amazing Internet". |

Ode to an Ummah discussion
Muzzles! and Muggles! and sheiks, oh my!
No Jannah for Hogswart fans who buy
Harry Potter books, sinful as sex! they cry
Cuz they teach little Muzzles of sorcer-eye.
Imaginative fiction is nothing but sin!
Teach your toddlers to read the Koran.
No TV, nursery rhyme or fable for them
All are SHIRK, like the game Candy Land. |

A Kapfar you are indeed.
Listening to you? There is no need.
You were obviously planted by a bad seed.
Disrespecting Jesus or any other Prophet of Islam, a punishment for you there'll be. |
I can imagine being a bad seed or being a seed planted by an evil farmer, but "planted by a bad seed"???
A bird out of clay? Oh please don't tell me you are giving any merit to the gnostic gospels of Jesus' childhood. |
The Qur'an talks about Jesus making a bird out of clay.
(And remember) when the angels said: O Mary! Lo! Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a word from Him, whose name is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, illustrious in the world and the Hereafter, and one of those brought near (unto Allah). He will speak unto mankind in his cradle and in his manhood, and he is of the righteous. She said: My Lord! How can I have a child when no mortal hath touched me? He said: So (it will be). Allah createth what He will. If He decreeth a thing, He saith unto it only: Be! and it is. And He will teach him the Scripture and wisdom, and the Torah and the Gospel. And will make him a messenger unto the children of Israel , (saying): Lo! I come unto you with a sign from your Lord. Lo! I fashion for you out of clay the likeness of a bird, and I breathe into it and it is a bird, by Allah's leave. I heal him who was born blind, and the leper, and I raise the dead, by Allah's leave. And I announce unto you what ye eat and what ye store up in your houses. Lo! herein verily is a portent for you, if ye are to be believers ( Surah 3:45-49 _________________ The Humble Soul of Truth, Peace and Revolution. The psycopath that deals with nothing but reality.

I see. Then if Mohammed heard those earlier apocryphal stories of Jesus' infancy, he could have incorporated them into his revelation. Islam is making more sense all the time. Not that I think it's right, but I'm understanding where the bits and pieces came from in ever increasing doses. _________________ Knowledge is power. Power corrupts.
