I hate to bring it, guys, but we all see the problem. Gentle admonitions aren't gonna shut up the Mouth That Roared, and we have few alternatives.

I'm finding it difficult to separate Silk's incoherent ramblings from the rest of you. He dominates every thread, every topic. If he was semi-interesting, I would weather it as best I can, but this is ridiculous. At some point, we have to assume control of the site are we will lose it to the Voice of Unreasonableness.

But he is the only one currently representing the Muslim point of view on this forum.

Silkie, this is my public plea to you. Limit your topics. Use your own words. Please.

Hello Haq

I will post my opinion also here: I don't think a ban would be appropriate.

We might, however, consider putting a limit to the number of threads created each day by a single Member (e.g. 3 threads a day ?)

Someone would have to count the threads, though, allow for different time zones etc etc

On second thought, better leave it like that.

All the best

Much as I wish he would just go away on his own, I don't support a ban at this time. He is just an attention whore and I say we try ignoring him and quit responding to his trolling posts. If he ever decides to engage in adult conversation we could then respond.

I don't think banning is necessary, but I also don't think that ignoring will make any difference. If only there was a way to not have every single thread pasted with his inanity looking like there was something interesting to read.Rolling Eyes

Anyway to exempt him from the yellow folder highlight after his posts? Wink

One thing we could do is give all active members (those who have posted in the last 14 days) the ability to edit his posts. I think changing a little of his sentence structure and nonsensical content could become quite entertaining and humorous.

Well, yeah, but wouldn't that mean that people would get to edit the posts of others, like me, and you? Let's not go there.

There is no possibility for making just the posts by one Member editable.

Yes, we could all become mods (except Silkie?) and start happily editing each other's messages....

Could become rather confusing...

Enough already!

SIGH.....this is how it goes on the forum these days...

Clicking on the link, cuz the yellow folder says "new posts"...and of course what do we see?

All silkworm's wormy little comments and their snarky sarcasm which take far too much effort to even consider for what the payoff is...Rolling Eyes

Now I have to click, click, click just to get rid of the yellow "new post" folder or begin to just ignore, ignore, and click only on those which are NOT silkworm.

Such a shame, if Silkie does have something valuable to say, it won't be seen.

Something about 'crying wolf' at work in this matter...

...but he's our bore.

As ridiculous as Silkworm can be, he is representative of the Muslim mind.
Unreasonable, irrational, and prejudiced. Should we be surprised given the actions of Muslims worldwide? The reaction to the cartoons, the riots in France, honor killings in Europe and Canada, (in the U.S. too, I think). We keep hoping there are reasonable, rational Muslims, who don't work for CAIR, but let's face it, they are as mythical as the benevolent Muhammad they preach.

It would be interesting and far more informative, if someone like TwoCents could hang around and give their point of view without getting mad everytime someone dissed Mohammed or Islam. Imagine a Muslim, who could understand our point of view, and carry on a discussion without immediately branding us as racist haters of Islam. I have a dream...

Imagine Muslims who could understand MLK's 'I have a dream' speech, and practice it unreservedly, without resorting to sharia or dhimmitude, the suppression of women, or religious mania over perceived 'insults'.
Where do they stand on Dr. Martin Luther King?

Just thinking out loud.

I think I've seen some boards with an ignore option, that hides anything a selected user posts. I poked around our board admin stuff, and didn't see anything, but maybe Gio knows.

Hey, I'm there.

Just had a short break.

I'm afraid that we cannot easily modify our software, it's a rather basic version...

On the other hand, we could look around for a different software, and prepare a new, restyled forum, with all the bells and whistles ...

Let's think about this.

All the best

I care too, and not because he is a Muslim (what does that have to do with caring about fellow humans?)

Come home, Silkworm, all is forgiven, by me at least.

Well, well a lota back biting, eh??? The only thing that is bothering you is that Silkworm is hurting your well-established egos and brings down your humongous diatribes to taste dirt.

I am sorry Haq Luggi If I have been slightly out of course, but the thing is if you order and $5.00 meal you will get the same and not "Fillet Mignon", got that.

Have you ever considered that why I even bothered to follow Rhoda and Giordano, Magna, Honu, or Jimdi here in this forum which is not a Moslem forum, cause I think of you guyz as a "comrade" and not just simple and hifi Infidels???

I am not being apologetic but think about it, Thanks Rhoda and Giordano for having different thoughts, I Owe a Pizza to Giordano, lemme know when to order.

Thanks but the Bad News is I am Back!!!
