I have them framed at my stitching shop.....they put some sort of soft material under the stitching so that it "puffs" out. I don't put glass on these type of framings.

Can't wait to pick up my Chatelaine today at the shop! I also had that one framed without glass due to all the beading, etc. I can always add glass on later if I decide to do that.

is that what tim means bij padding......the stuff under the fabric??............that is not so difficult if you have the right stuff.....just lay it under the fabric (we use a kind of fluffy stuff like a blanket.LOL) and than stretch the fabric before framing and SEE......................But krevin, you dit a wonderfull job by framing this..looks very good.........and will you show us your framed chatelaine overhere????

That's what I mean, do you use different thickness of the fluffy thing in the middle or what ? I might want to frame some of my smaller piece this way.

Hans,

I think you didn't understand. I didn't frame these myself, I paid to have them framed at my local stitching shop. They only charge about $7.00 each to frame them (I already had the frames). I'm just not very good at centering and getting my stitching evenly framed by myself, so I just pay to get it done.

I've tried to frame a few small pieces using this padding. We can buy special boards here at the craft stores which are acid free and sticky with padding. They are made especially for framing needlework. You press your stitching onto the sticky, padded board, and wait a while for it to adhere, then you can frame it.

Tim, do you have craft stores near you over there? If you'd like me to buy you some of these mounting boards over here and mail them to you, I can. Let me know. They are not expensive...couple of dollars.

LOL me stupid little dutchboy now......................oh sometimes I read without seeing what is standing there for real..................but it looks very good and was not to expensive afterall..............

I don;t think we can buy the kits you use with the padding on it but is I wanted to frame it that way I would use the fluffy stuff we can buy here and also glue it on a board or so.................but buying it complete is very nice,,,,,,,,well done boy
